Sunday Morning Opportunities:

All children’s classrooms have at least two volunteers each week.  Each position is on a rotational basis.  Generally, the rotation is two weeks on and four weeks off though this does vary from time to time.

  • Nursery Care Provider (infant to crawlers) - check-in babies and bags, find out from parents any special needs, and provide basic care including holding, cuddling, rocking, changing, etc.
  • Younger Toddler Care Provider (Walkers to 2-1/2year olds)--After greeting children and parents, spend time playing, reading, and caring for the children in the class.
  • Teacher—We have opportunities for people who love to teach Bible stories and engage with children in games and activities.  Teachers are needed for Older Toddler (2 ½-3 ½), Preschool (3 ½-5), and Elementary (K-6th grade).  Curriculum and supplies are provided.
  • Teacher’s Assistant-Help teachers with various classroom activities such as check-in/out, crafts, snacks, restroom assistance and clean-up.  Assistants are needed Toddler (2 ½-3 ½), Preschool (3 ½ -5) and Elementary (K-6th grade) classrooms.
  • Substitute—Be willing to fill in as a teacher, assistant, or care provider in any/all of the classrooms in case a regularly scheduled teacher or assistant is sick, has an emergency, or is going to be out town.
  • Worship—Help children engage in worshipping God.  Whether you are able to play a musical instrument or just sing, help children experience worship with your abilities.  Also, occasionally help with children learning songs for the adult worship service.
  • Drama—On occasion, we have need for a drama and skits for part of the lessons.  Whether you love to direct or act, we can use those talents in our preschool and elementary classes.

Other Opportunities:

  • Vacation Bible School—Once a year, we offer a fun-filled week of music, stories, games, crafts, snacks, and missions exploration.  We need help in all those areas during the week as well as being crew leaders.  In addition, there is a lot of preparation ahead of time that we can always use some extra help with (purchasing supplies, organizing supplies, decorations, etc).
    • Station Leaders—facilitate games, snacks, crafts, music
    • Station Assistants—assist the station leader with games, snacks, crafts
    • Bible Story Teller—Teach the Bible in a dramatic and experiential way
    • Crew Leaders—Spend the week with 6-10 children getting to know them and helping them process what they are learning and experiencing.
    • Child Care Provider—Childcare is provided for the children of volunteers not old enough to participate in VBS.  Help watching these children.
    • Decorations—Help with painting, cutting, and decorating to transform the space into a our VBS theme.
  • Special Events—Throughout the year we offer various family events, help is needed with planning, preparing, set-up, clean-up, as well as during events.
  • Childcare for church meetings/ luncheons—Throughout the year, the church has various meetings or luncheons and offers childcare during them.  Help by spending time watching and caring for the children.
