Children's Ministry

We love children at Aspen Grove Community Church.  The adult and teen volunteers count it a privilege to serve children and partner with families in introducing children to Jesus.  We have programming on Sunday morning during the service to meet the needs of children birth-12 years of age.

Our Sunday morning programming includes:

  • Nursery (Infants-walkers)—This classroom is staffed by volunteers who provide TLC for your littlest ones.
  • Younger Toddlers (Walkers-2 ½)—This classroom is filled with age appropriate toys, books, and music for your child to play, explore, and learn.  Included in the morning is snack time.
  • Older Toddlers (2 ½ - 3 ½)—Children in the classroom hear a simple Bible story and participate in crafts, games, music, and snacks.
  • Preschool (3 ½-5)— First Look curriculum is used to help children learn:
    1. God made me.
    2. God love me.
    3. Jesus wants to be my forever friend.
The hour includes experiencing the Bible story and reinforcing it with games, crafts, and music.  A snack is also served during the hour.
  • Elementary (K-6th)—252 Basic curriculum is used for children to teach children:
    1. I need to make the wise choice.
    2. I can trust God no matter what.
    3. I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
Through exploring various Bible stories, children learn a different character virtue each month.  We pray that children will love God and model his character to the world.  We introduce these ideas through an engaging Bible story and follow it with games and activities that reinforce and apply the ideas.

The classrooms open up at 9:35 a.m., 10 minutes prior to the start of service.  For first time visitors, a greeter can assist you in determining where the appropriate class is for your child.  Upon arriving to the classroom, please fill out an information card with your and your child’s information, including any allergies.  You will receive a numbered wrist band for each child you register drop off that corresponds with your child’s nametag.  If you are needed during the service, the number will appear on the screens.  You will need the wrist band in order to pick up your child at the conclusion of the service.

In addition to Sunday morning programming, various children and family events are offered throughout the year including Vacation Bible School and seasonal family activities.
