Who We Are Becoming

As a community, we aspire to have our beliefs instruct our living. Our vision, beliefs, values and mission act as a compass that directs our progress in this world.

Our Vision

Come as you are…Be transformed…Go change the world!

God has chosen His Church to be the instrument through which the world will be changed. Aspen Grove Community Church is a local manifestation of the larger universal Church and as such, we want to be a community that is on mission for Jesus to advance the Kingdom of God. Our desire is to be a welcoming community that invites non-believers to faith and believers to deeper discipleship. We see a church that not only helps people to know Jesus but also, by the power of the Holy Spirit, a church where peoples’ lives are transformed. We also see the people of AGCC living out an active faith that responds to the needs of the lost and the poor both locally and globally. We hope that our distinguishing characteristics as a community of faith will be the ongoing practice of prayer, a deepening sense of Christian community, and a growing heart for sacrificial living in order to extend God’s Kingdom by meeting the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of our desperately lost and dying world.

Statement of Faith

  • We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons–the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit–equal in power and glory; that this triune God created all, upholds all, and governs all.
  • We believe in God The Father, an infinite, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love; that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men; that He hears and answers prayer; and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.
  • We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit.  We Believe in HIS virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, and teachings, His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into Heaven, perpetual intercession for His people and we also believe in his personal visible return to the earth for His Church.
  • We believe in the Holy Spirit, who came from the Father and Son, to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower for ministry all who believe in Christ and His work. He is an abiding Helper, Teacher, and Guide. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and in the exercise of all the Biblical gifts of the Spirit.
  • We believe that all men are sinners by nature and choice and therefore, are under condemnation; that God regenerates by the Holy Spirit those who repent of their sins and confess Jesus Christ as Lord; that Jesus Christ baptizes the seeking believer with the Holy Spirit and power for service.
  • We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the Word of God, fully inspired without error in the original manuscript.
  • We believe in the Universal Church, the living spiritual body, of which Jesus Christ is the Head and all regenerated persons are members.
  • We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ committed two ordinances to the Church: (1) Baptism; and (2) the Lord’s Supper. We believe communion is open to all believers.
  • We believe in the personal return of the Christ to rapture His Church; in His visible second coming to the earth and the establishment of His Kingdom. We also believe in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment and eternal blessing of the righteous and endless suffering of the wicked.

Our Values

  • God’s Word – We are committed to the clear and relevant communication of God’s Word in our public gatherings and the personal study of the Scriptures in more private settings in order to grow in grace, learn obedience and see lives transformed as a result of learning about God and His will. (2 Timothy 3:16-4:2, Romans 12:1-2)
  • Worship – We are committed to living lives that affirm the worth of God both personally and corporately.  This means honoring Jesus Christ as King, Redeemer and Savior whenever we gather together for prayer, singing, fellowship, giving and learning. It also means living out God’s will in our personal lives by His grace and the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 12:1-2, Hebrews 10:26-27, Colossians 3:23)
  • Community – We are committed to being a relationally-driven church that is friendly, encouraging and which incarnates Christ-like love through service to all. (I Corinthians 13; Ephesians 4:11-16)
  • Prayer – We are committed to encouraging and practicing both personal and corporate prayer for our church, our community and our world to see God’s transformative love extended in us and through us. (Luke 11:1-13, Ephesians 6:10-20)
  • The Poor – We are committed to seeing and serving the poor both locally and globally and significantly leveraging our time, talent and treasure to help meet their needs. (Galatians 2:10, Micah 6:8)
  • The Lost – We are committed to demonstrating the love of Christ, sharing the Good News of the Gospel and making fully devoted followers of Jesus both locally and globally. (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8)
